2009

matthew — Fri, 01/09/2009 - 13:55

So it's now 2009 and I've got some plans:

  • Get back into training... it's been a year now since I've done much of anything --I'd like to gear up to run a couple of races this summer.
  • Make money, save, and invest... I need the money to buy a building in the next couple of years.
  • Learn the art of frugality, and read more about investing.
  • Take a course in renovations, and read a couple of books on the subject.
  • Continue to tweak my attempts to be environmentally sustainable (I love my worm bins).
  • Get back into blogging.

Christmas Buy 2008

matthew — Fri, 12/12/2008 - 16:13

For those of you still suffering the pains of xmas shopping:

The Souk@SAT is on again from December 12th to the 14th (this weekend) at the SAT (1195 St. Laurent).

And the Salon des métiers d’art du Québec is already up and running until the 21st (Place Bonaventure).

[poor poor blog -- just a couple of posts up from the subject of a year ago]

Open Yale

matthew — Tue, 12/09/2008 - 10:47

It looks like Yale is offering a variety of it's introductory courses for free:
Open Yale Courses

While it's possible to teach yourself a little about everything, and a lot about somethings online, it's nice to see an ivy league school openly offering some structured courses.

Long Time no See

matthew — Thu, 09/25/2008 - 12:24

Oh the shame of neglect... poor blog. I really must do something to revive it, and I think I'll begin with a Drupal update and a redesign.

State of Moncton Wifi

matthew — Wed, 08/01/2007 - 13:29

Once again I'm off on my biannual pilgrimage to Moncton, and in preparation I thought I'd check on the state of free monkeytown wifi. Normally this proves fruitless, but now, as of June 22, in certain areas of downtown, I will find myself embraced by the cozy inviting arms of free connectivity...

matthew — Wed, 06/20/2007 - 08:44

Found this on the Snailhouse site! Ahhh it was Moncton, it was the 80s, and I was a 16 year old kid in the audience...

DemoCampMontreal2

matthew — Thu, 03/29/2007 - 12:29

It's DemoCampMontreal2 night at the SAT. The presenters look pretty interesting this time around, so I'd suggest signing up and swinging by the SAT at 6:30pm.
